Day 01: Nairobi
Met upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Assistance and transfer to your hotel.
Overnight: Nairobi Safari Club / Similar
Day 02: Nairobi – Arusha – Ngorongoro
Transfer to the Namanga border town. Change of vehicles and clear customs/immigration. Continue to Arusha for lunch. After lunch, drive to Ngorongoro conservation area.
Dinner and Overnight: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
Day 02: Ngorongoro
After breakfast at the lodge descend into the Ngorongoro Crater with picnic lunch. Ngorongoro Crater – A wonder of the world set in the African Wild, was an active volcano some million years ago whose cone collapsed leaving a sunken caldera of 311 sq km, rendering it one of the largest craters in the world. The magic stems from its sheer physical beauty and stunning panoply of wildlife that roam its floor. The 2000ft descent into the crater reveals a sight of unequalled grandeur. You will return to the lodge for lunch. Afternoon at leisure.
Dinner and Overnight: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
Day 03: Ngorongoro – Serengeti
Breakfast at the lodge. Depart with picnic lunch boxes. Drive via Olduvai Gorge the ‘Crater of Mankind’ is world famous for the Archaeological discoveries made there by Dr. Louis Leakey and Mary Leakey. The site is located about 10 to 15 minutes off the main road between Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Olduvai Gorge arose interest in the archaeological world as early as 1911, when German Professor Katurinkle whist looking for butterflies in the gorge, found some fossil bones. Dr. Leaky discovered there the skull Australopithecus-Zinjanthropus boisei – the nutcracker man who lived in the lower Pleistocene Age around 1,750,000 BC. Arrive in the evening at your lodge for dinner.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Serengeti. Apart from the Selous, this is the largest of all the Parks in Tanzania, summed up as ‘one of the most unique areas in the world’. The Serengeti contains the largest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, on a scale which has no parallel anywhere in the world. The abundance of herbivores includes wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, topi, buffalo, hartebeest, to name but a few. Serengeti is also famous for lion and contains a wide variety of birdlife, believed to be in the region of 350 species. Even during the height of the migration towards the Maasai Mara, there is a huge concentration of plains game in the Reserve, mainly concentrated around the watering places, and with good chances also of seeing the predators at work.
Dinner and Overnight: Serengeti Sopa Lodge
Day 04: Serengeti – Lake Manyara
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara for lunch. Enjoy the afternoon game drive. Lake Manyara National Park is only l23 square miles in area, and has a marvellous concentration of game, including 350 species of birds. A game drive through his Park takes you to flocks of flamingo on the soda lake and are a magnificent sight. The animals you are likely to see are elephant, Zebra, hippo, as well as the curious tree climbing lions. Lunch at the lodge. After lunch drive to Serengeti for dinner at the lodge.
Overnight: Lake Manyara Serena Lodge
Day 05: Lake Manyara – Arusha – Nairobi
After breakfast drive to Arusha for lunch. After lunch transfer to the border town of Namanga. Change of vehicles and clear customs/immigration. Continue to Nairobi and depending on clients’ flight departure time, transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. End of our services.
