Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe Int’l Airport, you will proceed to clear with immigration and customs procedures. Thereafter, you will be met by Primate Expeditions representative just outside the baggage area and transferred to The Boma for overnight.

 Kibale approx. 6 hour’s drive
This day we drive to Kibale Forest Reserve via Mityana and Fort Portal, in a breathtaking landscape that forms the Albertine western Rift Valley. We will have several stop overs to relax, and sightseeing as we pass verdant countryside, traditional homesteads and farms. We will have our packed/picnic lunch on the way and later proceed towards the park and check into the lodge upon arrival. Spend the rest of the evening 

 

Primate Lodge-Luxury Cottages LDBB

 Kibale
Early transfer to Kibale Forest NP, where all morning is dedicated to search for chimpanzees and other primate including: I’hoestes, red colobus, blues, red tailed and gray– cheeked mangabey. Lunch at lodge then visit the Bigodi Swamps to see a wide range of bird species. Return to the lodge and spend the evening at leisure

Queen Elizabeth approx. 3 hour’s drive
After breakfast you will depart Kibale and leisurely drive to Kasese Town, passing through fertile agricultural land and the lower slopes of one of Africa’s largest mountain ranges – namely the Rwenzori Mountains. On the way to Kasese Town you will go through the little road-side town of Hima, famed throughout Uganda for its Cement Factory. From Kasese, you will cross the equator as the road passes though the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon arrival at the park you will embark on a game drive and later proceed to your lodge, enjoying wonderful sightings of the rare Ugandan cob along with elephants and buffaloes in the distance. Arrive at lodge in time for lunch. Spend evening at leisure

Enjoy an early morning game drive in Kasenyi area -Queen Elizabeth boasts one of the highest bio diversity ratings of any game park or reserve in the world, – from the open Savannah to Rain Forest, dense Papyrus Swamps and brooding Crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward.

Almost 100 mammal species that include Lions, Hippos, Buffaloes, Leopard, Spotted Hyena, Elephants and the elusive Giant Forest Hog plus remarkable 606 bird species that include the Black Chested Eagle, the Swallow-Tailed Bee Eaters, to mention but a few. After the game drive return to the lodge for lunch and thereafter set off to enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel (2 hours approx.), to look out for the hippos, great herds of buffaloes, and lots of water birds return to lodge and spend evening at leisure. You may choose to enjoy a late evening game drive

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Reserve approx 5.5 hour’s drive
Depart to Bwindi Impenetrable NP, home of the endangered mountain gorilla arriving at the lodge in time for lunch, check into your lodge spend the afternoon at leisure.

Today you set off on your Uganda gorilla tracking adventure in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Forest Reserve – home to half of the world’s total mountain gorilla population. Early morning transfer back to Kihihi airstrip to catch your schedule Aerolink flight at 0930 hours to Entebbe. Upon arrival approx… 1125 hours, you will be met and assisted to connect your onward flight.

  • Any other meals and beverages, other than specified.
  • International, regional and local Airfares.
  • Airport taxes.
  • Passport and visa fees and service charges for obtaining visas.
  • Excess baggage charges levied by airlines.
  • Gratuities to driver/guides and other conveyance attendants.
  • Laundry and other items of a personal nature such drinks, telephone calls ETC
  • Personal, baggage, Accident and Trip Cancellation/Interruption insurance.
  • Cost for anything not specifically mentioned in the inclusions

Terms & Conditions

Important notes;

Visas;

Ugandan visas are required by citizens of the European Union, the USA and Japan; other nationals basically with the principle of reciprocity. Entry visas can be applied online http://www.visas.immigration.go.ug/ or gotten on arrival, applicants must have a valid travel document not less than 6 months from the date of departure. A single entry visa costs US$ 50, and is valid for three months.

NB- The EAC Tourist visa allows you to visit Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda within 90 days and costs US$ 100

 

Booking Terms & Conditions

1) All quotations are net /non-commissionable and inclusive of statutory taxes/levies.
2) Once a booking is confirmed, an invoice will be sent, after which payment should be made immediately to secure bookings.
3) We shall NOT be liable for any excursions or extra services NOT booked through our offices while on tour.
4) For payments made in cash, US Dollar notes older than 2006 are not accepted, US$ 2 bills not accepted as well.
5) Invoices are subject to a fee of US$ 35.00 towards International Bank Telegraphic transfer charges.

 Gorilla Permits
Gorilla permits are confirmed via payment of US$ 600 per permit (US$ 700 from 01st Jul 2020) to Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), who confirm the permits on first come first serve basis. Primate Expeditions Ltd shall NOT be held responsible if at the time of receipt of payments the permits will not be available.

NB:

  1. a) Gorilla Permits based on current Government Park Tariffs. Park fees are subject to change without prior notice.
  2. b) Gorilla permits are non-refundable & non-transferable

Cancellation Policy: The cancellation policy for safari sector excludes permits policy:

  1. a)To cancel any reservation, Primate Expeditions Ltd must be notified in writing as soon as possible.
  2. b) Notice of cancellation is only effective when it is received in writing.
  3. c) In such case the following cancellation charges will be payable on accommodation and related services:
  4. If cancelled 60 days and over – No charges.  
  5. If cancelled 59 – 36 days and under, 45% cancellation charges will apply   

iii. If cancelled 35 – 16 days and under, 75% cancellation charges will apply   

  1. If cancelled 15 days and under, 100% cancellation charges will apply
  2. d) Unused portion of any Safari or Tour is not refundable.
  3. e) The small and up market properties such as Apoka Lodge, Clouds Gorilla Mountain Lodge, Semliki lodge and Pineapple Bay and any other as advised at the time of quotation/booking may require a non-refundable deposit to guarantee bookings. This will be communicated at the time of booking.
